If your Friday-and-Saturday routine still starts at the same lake-adjacent patio it did two summers ago, you are working from an outdated map. The city's free summer programming has quietly consolidated onto two civic venues this year, and the dining rooms most residents used to default to have new names, new owners, or entirely new concepts. The last four weekends of August 2026 are the cleanest chance to reset the routine before the summer series wraps for the season.
Here is the thesis, stated plainly: the interesting weekend gravity in Westlake Village has moved off the country-club-and-lake axis and onto two public venues plus a freshly reshuffled block at The Shoppes and The Landing. If you plan around that, August gets a lot more interesting.
The August Concert Calendar, In One Place

Why The August 7 Show Is Back At City Hall
A small logistical detail worth knowing, because it changed the pattern for most of the season: the earlier Friday shows this summer were relocated to Berniece Bennett Park because of construction at the City Hall courtyard. The May 29 jazz opener and the June 12 World Cup watch party both moved to the park as a result. The August 7 show with 5-Star Theatricals is the one that actually returns the TGIF series to its intended home at 31200 Oak Crest Drive.
If you have been to a TGIF concert before and expected the courtyard, this is the first Friday all summer where the format matches the memory. If you have only attended one this season and thought "this is just the Saturday show on a different night," August 7 is the corrective.
The Third Series Most Residents Forget About
Separate from the two city-run series, The Promenade at Westlake hosts live music near the fountain every Saturday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, running from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. That gives you four more Saturday nights in August plus the Labor Day cap on September 5.
The Promenade set is a different animal from the park concerts. It is dinner-and-a-drink with music as background, not a picnic on the grass. The practical implication: on Aug 15 and Aug 29, you can stack them. Early dinner at The Promenade with the fountain-side set, then walk into the 7:00 PM show at Berniece Bennett Park a few minutes away. That double is the move most locals I talk to have not tried yet.
The Dining Room Turnover You Should Know Before You Book
The dinner map inside a short drive of the 101/Westlake Boulevard interchange has turned over more in the past year than in the previous five. If you are pairing a restaurant with one of these concerts, at least four of the addresses you might type into a maps app are new tenants in old rooms.
Yār on the Lake. The former Zin Bistro Americana space at The Landing, 32131 Lindero Canyon Road, Suite 111, reopened this spring as Yār on the Lake, operated by the same ownership family behind Zin. The word yār is Persian for "friend." The stated concept is Mediterranean communal dining rooted in Persian hospitality, and the family described the space as a way of giving back to a community they have lived in for over 40 years. The lake view is the same one Zin regulars remember; the menu and identity are not.
Osteria La Buca. The Italian group behind the original Melrose Avenue location and the Sherman Oaks room opened its third restaurant this spring at 30760 Russell Ranch Road, Suite D, at The Shoppes at Westlake Village. Co-owner Stephen Sakulsky, who lives locally, told What Now Los Angeles the group chose Westlake Village for the same reason they went to Melrose and Sherman Oaks early: they look for neighborhoods where they think they can grow with the area. The menu carries the pasta and pizza core from the other locations, with a few dishes unique to Westlake.
Toastique. A few doors down at 30760 Russell Ranch Road, Suite B, Toastique opened April 11 as a gourmet toast, juice, and coffee bar with a breakfast-through-late-afternoon menu. Hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Owned by two local couples, Katherine and Leonid Tsap and Alina and Dmytro Gaidukovych, per the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce press announcement. It is the daylight option in a cluster that otherwise tilts toward dinner.
CAVA. The Mediterranean fast-casual chain opened its Westlake Village location on May 15 at Westlake Plaza and Center, 968-12 S Westlake Boulevard, just south of the 101 at Agoura Road, per coverage in Patch. Hours are 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Not a concert-night dinner destination on its own, but useful to know for the pre-Saturday errand run.
La Gita Kitchen and Focacceria. Not open yet, but worth putting on the radar because it fills a genuine gap. La Gita is a takeout and catering focaccia, sandwich, and charbroiled chicken concept moving into the former StretchCoast space at the County Line Shopping Center, 4619 Lakeview Canyon Road. Co-owner Kyle Lopez was Chief Operating Officer at Stonefire Grill from 2008 to 2020; his mother and co-owner Mary Harrigan co-founded Stonefire in 2000. Wine and beer for offsite consumption was approved by City Council on April 22. A late-2026 grand opening is the current target. Two Pairings For The Last Three Concert Nights

- Friday, Aug 7 with 5-Star Theatricals. Early dinner at Osteria La Buca, then a five-minute drive to the City Hall courtyard at 31200 Oak Crest Drive. The show is theatrical revue material, which tracks with a sit-down Italian dinner in a way that a bar-and-taproom dinner does not.
- Saturday, Aug 15 with 90s Rockshow, or Aug 29 with Surf City Allstars. Grab the food-truck line at 6:00 PM at Berniece Bennett Park and pack a real picnic. Save the sit-down room for a night without a park show. If you want the sit-down anyway, Yār on the Lake at The Landing is the room where the food and the water view together feel like a summer Saturday.
The through-line on all of this is that the version of a Westlake Village weekend that lived in your head five years ago has quietly rewritten itself. Two civic venues, one shopping-center fountain, and a handful of independent kitchens have replaced the older defaults. The last three weekends of programmed summer are the low-stakes way to update the mental map.
